Made in Britain launches Secondary Licence to members

Over the past few years, we have offered a 'sub licence' to members who produce their product under licence for specific customers. An example of this could be a paint manufacturer, who produces a range branded for a customer, made either as an exclusive variant or the same product they produce within their portfolio, but as an OEM manufacturer for another brand.

Earlier this year, we undertook to review the sub-licence process and the product to our members. The new Secondary Licence is launched to existing sub licence holders and new applications from December 1st 2023.

The secondary licence moves from the free sub licence model to the charged model of £195 + VAT for every secondary licence a licensed member wishes apply. Existing holders will be contacted by the membership team. They will be offered the new Secondary Licence for each of their current sub licences from December 1st 2023.

Payment will be pro rated to coincide with members membership renewal date in all new and existing applications and then be charged annually from their next renewal date.

Made in Britain CEO, John Pearce, said, "We see the Secondary Licence at Made in Britain as key to the marketing of more British-made goods, giving them a degree of increased traceability once they leave the member’s factory. We all look forward to offering this service to both new and renewing members.”
