Commercial vehicle accessories manufacturer, Van Guard UK, is delighted to have been shortlisted for the Express & Echo’s Small Business of the Year Award. This recognition is especially sweet given this was the most hotly contested of all this year’s Business Awards, which celebrate Exeter’s thriving business community.
As the only manufacturer to be shortlisted across all categories, Van Guard is flying the flag for British manufacturing. From the super sleek ULTI Bar to the aerodynamic Van Guard pipe carrier, both endorsed by TV construction expert Roger Bisby, Van Guard makes premium quality van accessories.
Managing Director Barry Woodward comments: “We were thrilled to find out that we had been chosen as a finalist the Express & Echo’s Small Business of the Year Award. With substantial investment in our business over the last year we feel this is a great endorsement of our achievements to date.
“Over the last year we have been storming ahead with our goals. We have just completed the process of re-shoring our bespoke components back to Britain, and alongside this, we have significantly increased our design, production and manufacturing capabilities through the addition of a new BySprint 3kW Fiber laser cutter, ensuring our commitment to making innovative products to the highest quality. Not only has an increase in sales accommodated this investment, it has also allowed us to create more jobs.”
In addition to designing and making vehicle accessories, Van Guard UK is looking to develop its manufacturing division by working in partnership with other key manufacturers to produce high quality state-of-the-art components.
